Jeff and Stacy Schlichter, 15 year residents of Farmington, had been dreaming about opening their own
restaurant for a very long time, and with Blondie's Tavern opening August 2010, the dream has come true.
They
envisioned a type of place, where, to steal a phrase, "everybody knows your name". A place to get great food at
an affordable price, and/or to come and have a "refreshment" while watching your favorite sporting event,
meeting up with some friends, or just relaxing after a day at work.
Working in food service for more than 20 years, Jeff started out by scrubbing pots
and pans in a college kitchen and then earned a degree in hospitality management. He had worked for Perkins Family
Restaurants since 1991.
Stacy
has worked in the food service industry for most of her adult life as well, with Boston Market being the bulk of it, so between
them, they bring over 40 years of experience to their restaurant.
Jeff and Stacy believe that the secret to running a successful restaurant and bar comes down
to genuine hospitality. They also understand you need to provide an environment that is warm, comfortable and welcoming.
A place you want to come back to with your friends and family.
They are very hands on, and as a rule one or the other, and much of the time both,
are at the restaurant to greet their guests. When you stop in, just ask to see an owner and you'll get to meet one or
both.
