JANUARY 2008
MSRA BANQUET 1/26
I gotta tell ya, us Cruzers are a huge part of this festivity. They estimated 800 attendees, and we again had 10
tables (10 people each) reserved, plus there were numerous other Cruzers sitting at other tables . We had 2 members in the
running, Tim & Joy Hanna and Arnie & Pat Carlson, both for Street Rod of the Year. To our dismay, neither took home
the win.... BUT!!! Arnie & Pat were awarded the "Hacksaw Award" by the Roadster's Club. It was an interesting
evening because there was a tie for 1st in the Street Rod voting. It was only the second time in the MSRA's history that
there was a tie. Like last year, the food was remarkably good for banquet food, with the 2 items being fish and steak. Oh
ya, they also had chocolate cake & a FANTASTIC apple cheesecake... Not that I care much for sweets :- ).
Congratulations to both couples. The club is proud of your vehicles, and to have
you as members..
WORLD OF WHEELS 1/25-27
MSRA invited Carl & Ellen Forsberg to bring their 39 Ford to their display
at the World of Wheels last weekend. Though it was really cold on Thursday Carl drove the car down and said it was a blast
watching people look at the car.... Not used to seeing one on the road at the end of January. Anyhoo, they did the club proud
by getting first place in their class AND,,,, they were the American Rodder Magazines "All American Hot Rod" pick
of the show. Our Congrats go out to them.
FRIDAY
NIGHT CRUISE - MYSTIC LAKE 1/25
After a false start
on the 18th, Gary pulled it off on the 25th. We didn't get to use the coupons, but it was a really good time anyway. When
we go here it seems that people hang out and chat more afterwards. The buffet was EXCELLENT, and for the Bubbers' it was
free, as after we headed out we stopped by the slots..... And low and behold by the time we were done we left with $300 of
the casino's cash...... rare but it happens :- ). Again it was a fun time as it always is when a bunch of Cruzers get
together. The light was not conducive to picture taking.... Sorry
CLEMMER'S NEW YEARS DAY PARTY 1/1
What
can I say??? As always this was a GREAT time, what with all the friends and food...... oh man!!!! The food!!!. They also had
a nice "beverage" setup in the kitchen for those that chose to partake. Dick & Mary Ann really know how to throw
a party, and by the attendance the Cruzers know it because the house was packed and it's not a small house. Our Thanks
to them for providing what has become one of the highlights of the year.
FEBRUARY 2008
MCCA MEETING
2/16
Tom McIntosh & I represented the Cruzers
at the annual Minnesota Car Club Assn. meeting Feb 16th. There were about 100 people in attendance, announcing their event
dates & picking up flyers to take back to their club. Tom brought the POP Friday Night Cruise flyers & I brought the
Summer Spectacular info. It's fun to see some folks you haven't seen for awhile, plus they serve cooooooo kies &
coffee.... It's the other reason I go. :- )
FRIDAY NIGHT CRUISE - CHEROKEE STEAKHOUSE 2/15
Well, it sounds the same almost every month, but if it's true, it's true.
30 of us Cruzers met at the Cherokee Steakhouse in Eagan. We had a great time, and the food was EXCELLENT!!. As you can see,
we had a room all to ourselves and the buffet was also exclusively for us. I'd do this gig again in a heartbeat and others
voiced the same opinion. All you can eat for $15/person AND, that included the beverage and tip. Kudos to Gary for his
efforts
MARCH 2008
FRIDAY NIGHT CRUISE - CRACKER BARREL 3/21
In spite of the big snowfall today, 6 - 8 inches, 32 Cruzers turned out to enjoy
the great food and Club comeraderie at the Cracker Barrel in Lakeville. We had the whole back room to ourselves (except for
one table of 6 that took forever to finish). Again, as always, it was a good time, and the gals of course got the better end
of the deal with all the interesting stuff the Cracker Barrel carries in their gift shop. If you're not coming to these
you're missing out on a good time and the opportunity to meet other members.
PORK PRODUCERS 3/8
Article by: Dave
Kempkes
Once again, Fran & Terry Stade included the Cruzers
in their pork producers event at the K of C Hall in New Prague. About 34 of us took up the event, consisting of fantastic
pork chops, slaw, au gratins, and of course chocolate cake! Almost everyone won a door prize of some sorts. It was just as
much fun as last years, even took in the Dairy Queen afterwards for a treat. Ya know, the Cruzers love to hang out and eat.
Hope you can join us next year. A HUGE thanks to Fran & Terry for always including the club in their many events.

ANNUAL BANQUET - 4/5
This was a rollicking good time. We started out boarding the buses, there were
2, at Schmitty & Sons at 9:30 AM and got to Chanhassen Dinner Theater about 10:30. It was a great turnout with about 90
members participating. We had the whole theater to ourselves which is always a cool thing because we can be as raucous as
we choose...... and there's some pretty wild members in our group. We had great food, and the one man play, "The
Wonder Bread Years" was really a trip down memory lane for everyone. The amount of door prizes was almost overwhelming,
as Dave Kempkes hustled up enough so that almost every member in attendance got one. It was a fun time and we want to thank
Gary Lyons, Roger Gilb and Dave Kempkes for a job well done!!
CRUZER OF THE YEAR AWARD
Tim Hanna received
the Cruzer of the Year award at an earlier Club Meeting, and it is a well deserved award. Tim has been instrumental in bringing
in sponsors for the Summer Spectacular, lining up free stuff for give aways at club events, and is a fervent attendee, along
with his bride Joy, at most every Club event
MAY
2008
Dakota Village's Spring
Festival - Mini Show - May 3 & 4
This was held
at the Dakota County Fairgrounds. Saturday was a chilly, windy day, and only 4 cars showed up. Sunday was an absolutely gorgeous
day and still only 5 cars showed up. Thanks to Dave Kempkes, Jim Reed, & John Nelson for coming Saturday, and to Dave
Kempkes Keith Biers, Carl Forsberg and Rich Storlie for coming Sunday. I do have to say that this was sorta embarrassing.
We had put the word out that this was a club Mini Show, and this is all the support we got, even though we have almost 90
memberships in the club. It seems that the club's support for mini shows has died off, and that's unfortunate as we
get requests to do these. If we accept the offers, we need to come out and make a good showing. Hopefully it will be
better for the Burnsville Mini Show and the New Market cruise. Remember folks, for the most part you probably joined to be
a part of a club, so when there arises an opportunity to support the club by attending things, you should, if at all possible,
participate. It's what gets our club the recognition that we need to help raise our visibility. The Summer Spectacular
banner was flying.
HASTING CONAGRA CAR
SHOW - MAY 18th
This is always a nice little show for
early in the season. It was chilly in the AM, but got reasonably nice later in the day.. There were some nice cars there,
and the 3 Cruzers that attended did well in their respective classes. Dick & Judy Jacobs' 34 Plymouth took 1st,
Carl & Ellen Forsberg's 39 Ford and Mark & Cindy Bubbers' 34 Ford took 3rd's in theirs. It sure felt good
to get to a show.

AV FREEDOM DAYS 6-27
Blurb by: Dave Kempkes
Jan
Pedersen won two awards with her 1955 Chevy 1st award: Fire Chief's Choice award & 2nd award: BEST OF SHOW Seems
Jan was really surprised that her ‘55 won best of show that she had to be called 2 times. CONGRATS to Jan., If you have
not yet seen Jan's ‘55 Chevy, you really are missing out on seeing a nice car!
Lakeville Crossings Car Show 6-14
Article By: Dave Kempkes
The was a small, but interesting
show. I arrived about 12:45pm and found Jan Pederson & Carl Forsberg already there. It was a first time run of a shopping
center parking lot car show. There were 3 awards; best domestic, best truck & best import. I left about 3:30pm and the
show lasted until 5pm. It was not overly crowded, only 35 cars showed up over the course of the afternoon, but it was a really
nice selection of "eye candy" to check out. A few suggestions were brought to the gals from the management company
who were doing the show ie; porta potty's, trash cans. The live 4 person band was very decent, playing many tunes
I knew. Next show July 19th, 1pm-5pm, corner 160th street & Cedar Ave south, Lakeville.
Stone Arches Father's Day Show June 14 & 15th
Article By: Dave Kempkes
I
did not go on Saturday although Jim Reed, Storlie's, Pages, Clemmers, Larson's, & Jim Moe went on Saturday.
The following people received awards: Jim Reed placed 1st in class, Bill Corson took 2 = 2nds, one in his class and one in
the peoples choice, erry Larson placed 2nd in class, Dick Clemmer placed 2nd in class. I went Sunday, and it was a very nice
day. I got to for the first time, see the new bridge they are building. It is really visible from the Stone Arch bridge over
the river. The cars were plentiful, and the people watching was always a popular pastime after the voting ballot is complete.
I did see Ron Anderson out there with his ‘57 Chevy, but I did not see any other members on Sunday. All in all, it continues
to be a popular draw for people on Fathers day Weekend, and for the arts festival.
Culver's In Savage 6-17
Article By: Dave Kempkes
Wonderful summer night at
Culver's in Savage on the 17th. If you missed this one, you missed about 42 cars there, coming and going. A real
fair amount of cruzers showed, I think 25 or so cars. We even got people who were driving by, get their cars and return to
hang out. Check it out in July we're here again on the 15th.
Prior Lake Cruise In 6-20
Article by Dave Kempkes
Well, I got there before 5pm, ahead of the rain clouds that were racing across
the metro area. No other car was in sight. After 25 drops hit my car, the sun broke out and it was back to a nice day. It
took about an hour to even get 5 more cars. By 6:30 p.m. there were 45 cars here, seeing to it was B.T.T.F. weekend. By nights
end, we possibly saw 60 cars. Lot's o mopars :-) . Really nice night, I hoped to see another member or two with a car
there, but Lindmeyers stopped by to chat (minus their car).
MSRA
BTTF's Kick Off 6/19
There were three Cruzers that
participated in the event this year. Forsberg's, Swagger's & Bubbers'. It's held right on Nicollet Mall
in downtown MPLS. It's a good time because it's held over the lunch hour so there's TONS of people that are out
and about and they stop and talk about the cars. KOOL 108 is there plus the papers cover the event. Since we're headed
to registration anyway, it's a fun 1-1/2 hour stop along the way. There are lots of food concessions set up plus
the people watching is EXCELLENT! We always enjoy ourselves.
BACK
TO THE 50's June 20th-22nd
Well, what can
you say??? It's always the same, but yet always different.. A good time was had by all as usual. There were a ton
of Cruzers parked at "Cruzer's Corner" and tons more scattered around the grounds. I believe I heard that they
again set a record for number of cars, 11,770, and that record was just set last year at something like 11,435. Most of us
take the show for granted because we've been coming for years, but as I walk around the grounds, I try to envision what
it must be like for "first-timers", and it's gotta be awesome. You can go to any of the "Nationals"
and the only one that has more cars is the NSRA Show. Many other National shows only have 3 - 4,000 cars, and some as few
as 1,500. Well, I'm just preaching to the choir here, but it is a really cool deal, and it's what most of us look
forward to all winter.
I also want to offer a CONGRATS
to Kim Clemens. Many of you may not know that she volunteered to take over running the MSRA Merchandise Tent for the MSRA
which menas she was in charge of all the selecting and ordering of all the various items sold there. People were loving it
as she chose many different styles and COLORS, so it was a whole new look, and sales were great, so again, thanks to Kim for
taking on a really time consuming job and doing it as a volunteer. Many of our Cruzer members work numerous shifts in
numerous areas at the BTTF's, and the Club should be proud that our members are so involved with the MSRA. Again, thanks
to Kim and all the rest who worked.
MN Military
Appreciation Walk/Run 6-22
Article by Dave Kempkes
Well, after a great breakfast at Burnsville Perkins, the Cruzers set out for the
city of Minneapolis, in normal Cruzer fashion. We was showing off our rides to all on the freeway. Nice little parade, a mixture
of stock, rod, & custom cars running up 35W on a Sunday Morning. The destination was Park Avenue, and the Minnesota Military
Appreciation Walk/Run. We parked our cars out on the street in Minneapolis, allowing our vehicles to become just another of
the numerous attractions that were available for the public and participants to view, talk about and just plain old daydream.
Numerous cruzers attended: Reed's, Kempkes, Bubber's, Forsberg's, Biers, Hanna's, Willson's, Page's,
Swagger's, McIntosh's, and a few others, too many to remember. A HATS off to the members who skipped out on BTTF's
Sundays events, and helped to honor the obligation the club gave to attend. Also attending was the patriot guard, motorcycle
club. If you are unaware of this group, they travel around the state for soldier funerals, and are often the blocking "wall"
between an honorary funeral and the protestors.

(Sunday) Cruise...
Champp's Americana,
BV 6/22
Article by Dave Kempkes
We met up at Champp's Restaurant after the curtain closing of the Back to the
50's at the fairgrounds. 34 members joined in the dinner gathering, some bringing grocery getters and others bringing
"the good car". Congrats and Happy Birthday to Lois Peterson, who was just slightly embarrassed when a birthday
dessert was brought to her. A nice time was had by all, a nice night for eating outside. We got a few people to join us for
a fri (sun) cruise who usually do not. WELCOME to everyone on these events.
Wednesday Night in the Park 6-25
Article
by Dave Kempkes
To start out things... thanks to Duane Barkley,
Tim Hanna, Ron Willson & Terry Stade for arriving ahead of time, to assist me with getting the club cars through the parking
lot and into the grass area. I know the I.S.D. was thrilled to have the turn out we showed tonight. They kept talking about
the assortment of fine vehicles we had on hand, and the openness of the club to show off their wheels to the public attending
the event. An event of this size, there are some complications with parking, crowds and just plain ol "leg room".
But as usual the cruzers took it in stride. We made room for all of our cars that came. Regardless if I wanted to keep the
numbers higher 20's low 30's for count
Back to Top of pageJULY 2008ACME Show - 7/3
Article By: Mark Bubbers
This was the 1st
time I've been to this and it was a pretty good show. They musta had around 200 cars there, and since it started at 4:00
they kept coming until 6:00 or so as people got off work. This is a crazy bunch of guys, but they do have a good time &
put on a nice show. As many know, ACME Speed Shop is not an official Car Club, it's just a bunch of old farts that refuse
to believe they're not still teenagers, and more power to them for that. Anyway, the Cruzers did well in the awards area.
It was a top 30 and the following (alpha order) won an award. Borowski's, Bubbers', Corson's, Lehrmann's,
Salhus', Stade's (w/Clemmer's 47) & Swagger's, They hold the show in the same park as Terry & Fran's
Cattail Days, although this year the Stade's have passed on putting that show on. Someone else is doing it, but guess
what? Terry & Fran are going to help.... Big surprise there huh?
DES MOINES AND BACK 7/4 - 6
Article By: Karen Keenan
If anyone would have told me two years ago that I would be heading down to Des Moines to just hang out for three
days, I would have laughed out loud. But then we didn't have our 57 Chevy and I hadn't been introduced to this
classic car hobby. Now into the second summer of Cruzin, our life has changed dramatically. The best part
is the people we have met. Special thanks to this club and the enthusiastic members. You are very special with
your gracious acceptance of new comers.
FRIDAY
NIGHT CRUISE -LAKEVILLE P.O.P. - 7/11
Article by: Mark
Bubbers
The weather reports said that there were storms coming
in by 9:00 and possibly bringing hail with them, and that was all it took to produce the lowest car count since 1996 or so.
After the storms in the northern burbs earlier in the week, a lot of folks didn't want to risk it, so we ended up with
only 278 cars in the cruise. All in all it was a good cruise anyway, even with Bubbers, who even though he has lead it the
last 3 years, missing the Dodd turn off Pillsbury. Luckily a wiser person caught the error, and only 25 cars went all the
way to 70 before going back to the school. The cars filled in the downtown parking, only to start taking off about 15 minutes
later when the storms were reported to be in Chaska and coming our way. The Club still made a few bucks, thanks in HUGE part
to our sponsors, Grossman Chevrolet/Cadillac & the Downtown Lakeville Business Assn. I feel the worst
about the spectators not getting anywhere near the show that we usually give them as 278 is about 1/2 the normal number, but
hopefully they'll understand.
PAN-O-PROG
CAR SHOW - 7/12
A good showing of Cruzers,
8, I believe, brought their cars to this one. It was the that is held the day after the Cruise. I think they need to
do more advertising then they've been doing, as this is the 4th year, and again they only had about 70 cars for the show,
plus the 55 or so Vettes that were there because the Vette Club puts it on. The Cruzer's did the Club proud as of the
Top 15 Awards (4 were reserved for the Vettes) we took home 6, plus Ron & Laurie Anderson got the Police Chief's Choice.
The other winners of a top 15, in alpha order were Ron & Laurie Anderson (yes 2 awards) Denny & Renae Borowski, Mark
& Cindy Bubbers, Ken Haglund, Jim & Linda Reed & Ron & Sandy Swagger. Congrats to all, and especially Ron
& Laurie as this was their first official show with their 1959 El Camino
THE LAKEVILLE CROSSINGS 7/13
Article
by: Mark Bubbers
This is not to be confused with the Lakeville
CrossROADS Event. This is a little deal on the SW corner of Cedar and 160th. There were only 17 cars that came, and they only
give awards to the top 3, but WOW!!! did they get cool stuff. Ron & Laurie Anderson's El Camino took 1st and Ron &
Sandy Swaggers ‘57 tied for 2nd. But they all got a $50 bill, $25 gift cert for Carboni's, a Blue Tooths headset,
3 free haircuts at Fantastic Sam's and I think they all also got a grill tool set as well. Jeesh!!! That sure beats a
$15 piece of plastic ..... HUH!!!
CLUB
PICNIC 7-26
Article by: Mark Bubbers
MMMM MMMM GOOD! There was great food at the picnic so if you weren't
there you really missed out. What with grilled brats, sloppy joe's, ham & cheese sandwiches, a plethora of salad stuff,
tons of desserts (including Dottie's banana dessert) and more, if you walked away hungry it was your own fault. It was
a super nice day, and everyone attending had an enjoyable time, except Tim Hanna who had a bit of discomfort as he had
to put up with seeing some people sitting around drinking COKE!!!! Thanks to Tom & Pattie Page for opening their home
up to a bunch of rowdies, and for doing all the work that goes into holding this event
AUGUST 2008
LAKEFRONT DAYS CRUISE 8/1
Article
by: Dave Kempkes
The weather was fantastic for a cruise. Nice
warm night, slight breeze, and so many cars showing up, I heard one volunteer say they were turning cars away. Their wanted
count was 290 cars, but were over 300 when they started turning cars away because the lots were full. Many Cruzers were there.
Somehow, Dave Kempkes got to be lead car behind the Prior Lake police squad. Other news from the "cruise front",
Dick & Mary Ann Clemmer did receive the Mayor's Choice Award for their '29 Sedan that they brought. Also, a
1967 Mustang GT 350 "Elenor" clone car took the Police Chiefs choice.Congrats to everyone
AUTO ZONE SHOW 8/2
Article by Dave Kempkes
This show was moved from Bloomington
due to space issues. There were probably 60 cars??? I didn't get an actual count. They gave $25 gift certs to the 1st
10 and REALLY nice gift bags of stuff to the next 25. Congrats to Mike & Sherry Freundschuh for a first place choice award,
and to John & Dorothy Nelson who placed in the Top 5.
DAKOTA COUNTY FAIR CAR SHOW 8/10
Hosted by the Cruzers Article by Dave Kempkes
What a fantastic day. Really cool breeze, 77degrees and a area of the fairgrounds surrounded by shade! We had
cars showing up at 8:45am, and I am not taking about Kempkes, and Bubbers! We had about 54 cars. The only real complaint was
that we were not in the usual location by the old gasoline station. But I did not hear any complaints from the people that
had shaded parking areas, this was ALL GOOD! Tammy & Dave Kempkes and John Nelson handled the registration chores. We
handed out T.S.S. flyers to everyone, and even reeled in 5 pre-registers! Thanks to any and all that either attended or helped
out getting the day off to a start. A few members also decided to partake in the tractor/car cruise around the fairgrounds.
It was a blast, the people seemed concerned about the cars "cruising" about the walkways, but all went well
Lakeville Downtown Business Assn.
Weds. In The Park 2008 8-13-08
What a NICE night! We started off with a little informal club meeting in the park, held by our fearless V.P. Gary
Lyons. Then we got down to the actual BUSINESS at hand, that was eating! Porterhouse provided complimentary steak kabob's,
which were actually really good! Then for desert Susan & Keith Biers served up ice cream floats, and brownies to anyone
that wanted to finish off what was left over from the P.O.P. Cruise. Russ & Quality Sounds kept the music going, and member
Ron Anderson actually was quite entertaining during the Elvis Lip-Sync portion of the show. The public turn out was actually
really good, better than last year after the 35W bridge fell. Member Cheryl Clark did win a 50 buck gift card to Porterhouse.
THE SUMMER SPECTACULAR
Check out the "Pictorial recap" on the "Cruise & Show" page
CRACKER BARREL SHOW 8/30
Article by Dave Kempkes
The weather was PERFECT for our
annual show at the Cracker Barrel in Lakeville. This is a club show, a sort of a "inter-club contest", a public
voting event, where the membership vies for bragging rights by being voted in the top 3.We counted 41 cars, and that even
included some customers who brought their cars down, or boyfriends or significant others of persons working inside. This is
a huge draw, not only as an unwind and fun show for the club members after the hectic Summer Spectacular, but that the Cracker
Barrel gives each member a coupon for 2, not 1, BUT 2 free dinners (breakfast, lunch or whatever floats your boat). As a club
event, it is not real hard for the cruzers to come out in force in the hardware department also. There was a 2 way tie, between
Veness and Clemmers. A drawing out of a hat, put the Veness vehicle into 3rd place. Mark & Cindy Bubbers took home a 2nd
place gift basket, and Tim & Joy Hanna took the trophy for the best of the show. This event would not even happen without
the generosity of the Cracker Barrel Management and the work of Sandy (with Ron in the background) Swagger. Thanks to all
that came for the day
Article by Dave Kempkes
As usual, the Annual Richfield
Community event was held on Sept. 20th. And as usual, out fearless car Show leaders Terry & Fran Stade got it all up and
running. And AS USUAL, tons of Cruzer members came to the aid by volunteering their time to getting this event off
to another great year. This year is a special one, as Terry & Fran will no longer be running the show, but may be apart
of helping over the next few years. Also, this year, unlike the past few, we enjoyed SUNSHINE all day. This also helped in
boosting the numbers, not only in car counts (I heard about 250), and vendors. But the real draw was the amount of the community
that came. Also at the Cattail Days, the Richfield Police displayed their Communications Vehicle, a few police squads, and
there was a square dance demo & lessons. Another 1st this year was the Minneapolis Dog Club, there holding a contest.
A Frisbee dog contest, with competition of catches, field running catches, and agility. This was a great event, for people
that have never had the exposure to the sport. And there WAS FOOD. Mexican, brats, hotdogs, sno-cones, taco's, etc. if
you could not find anything to eat all day, that was your fault. The vendors were community based, faith, businesses, and
the so forth. But WE were there to support the city of Richfield and their yearly community event. We as a club are PROUD
to be asked to participate, and readily come when called upon for help. It's just another way the Southern Cruzers name
remains a respected one in the car club community and the communities of which we reside. I know I can speak for Fran &
Terry when I say THANKS! to all that helped this year, and any of the past years in this event. CATTAIL DAYS TROPHY WINNERS
(alphabetical order) Ron & Laurie Anderson, Denny & Renae Borowski, Arnie & Pat Carlson, Dick & Mary Ann Clemmer,
Mike & Sherry Freundschuh, Tim & Joy Hanna, Jerry & Donna Larsen, Jim Moe, Dick & Lois Peterson, Doug &
Nancy Shellum, Ron & Sandy Swagger & Norm & Marian Veness CONGRATS TO EVERYONE
OCTOBER 2008
CLUB'S FALL FOLIAGE CRUISE 10/08
By Dave Kempkes
Thanks to all who joined in the fall foliage cruise and a HUGE thanks to Gary Lyons, who once
again found a picture perfect day for a cruise. We met at Dick's Sanitation, and headed south on Hwy. 52 to Preston for
Lunch at the Braised Skillet Supper Club. From there we stopped at an Amish settlement which had great handmade baskets and
YUMMY Strawberry Rhubarb jam :-) . From there we went to Rushford, LaCresent, Winona, Lake City (by the Mississippi River
lower pool and lock & dam # 6 & # 7. From there we went to red Wing to the Treasure Island Casino for Prime Rib night
at the buffet and the slot machines for those that wished to partake in that. All in all, it was a fun day, lot's ‘o
gas was burned (usually it was $2.72 a gallon), and stiff legs seemed to be the rule of the afternoon from the long ride.
No one broke down and I heard of no automotive related mishaps. The only "glitch" of the day was the unexpected
asphalt work being done on County Rd. 1, so that changed our planned course a little. Still was a nice scenic day. Car count
was 28 cars.
CULVER'S APPRECIATION NIGHT 10/23
By Dave Kempkes
We
went to Culver's in Lakeville for one last "hurrah" with General Manager Kim & her crew. Although no cars
were required, and no coupons were given, 19 members still attended. This was our way of showing Culver's that we did
appreciate their hosting us in their parking lot & restaurant during the summer months. Many nights during the summer,
we had anywhere from 15 to 47 cars lined up for the customers to admire, and us to hang out. Once again we need to recognize
Fran & Terry Stade, who yearly puts these together with the help of the restaurant Owner/Managers. Without their dedication,
we possibly would be hanging out in less desirable parking lots like Burger King :-(Thanks to Owner/Manager Mike and his management
crew and dedicated employees for making this past summer a memorable one on the 3rd Thursday of each month.

CLUB FRIDAY NIGHT CRUISE 11/21
Caspers Restaurant
By Dave
Kempkes
We had another cruise to Casper's in Eagan. If I
am not mistaken, 35 people showed up for the night. It was a bit cramped and a bit noisy in the bar area, but I guess that
is what happens on a Friday Night with 5 other parties happening at the same time. It was a real fine time once they got it
all going. Roast beef, bbq ribs, baked fish & of course...... DESERTS! Afterwards, 7 of us happened to cruise to
Dairy Queen in Apple Valley for a "lift" if ice cream :-) Like Tammy says, "you have to be a real
ice cream eater to go get a blizzard after a buffet dinner." Next Friday night dinner is planned by Tim & Joy Hanna
from here on out...
DECEMBER

CLUB FRIDAY NIGHT CRUISE
12/14 (Sunday Brunch)A nice rainy day greeted us for our brunch at the Wild's Golf Club. Although
36 of us did brave the weather (rain arriving, freezing rain departing). We had a great time, there was lots of food, if you
went home hungry, it was you own fault. Even Santa & Mrs. Claus were there for the folks to chat with.
GARY'S PARTY 12-21
By Gary Lyons
At first I didn't think anyone was
coming with the weather and roads being so bad. Then 1pm came and by 7pm there must of been 30 or 40 people that had come
and gone. I'm guessing around 25 Cruzers. There was so much good food, and conversation. And we did sing Christmas carols
and one polka. By the end of the day, the weather turned so cold and windy, but everyone made it out without getting stuck.
We almost had the adjustable buffet table dump its contents, but we caught it just in time....It added a laugh or two. I'm
sure head count was down because of the weather, but some real die hard Minnesotan's came thru.....
