2010 Club  Events Recap

MONTHLY CLUB EVENTS Monthly Meetings  are  the 3rd Wednesday of the month. They are held at the  Lakeville VFW 8790 Upper 208th St W. MAP Meetings start at 7:00 pm. Exceptions: There's NO MEETING in December. SWaturday Night Cruises are usually the 3rd Saturday of the month (year around) We meet somewhere (in the summer) and cruise to a restaurant to eat. In the winter we meet at the restaurant. On occasion they move around datewise, & there's a couple months we don't have one, so be sure to check here or your "Cruz News". JUNE 16th  MONTHLY MEETING - 7:00 PM at the Lakeville VFW - 8790 Upper 208th St.. It's right Downtown. Go down Holyoke and turn west at the Hardware store JUNE   CLUB EVENT  - Friday Night Cruise  This will be replaced by a Sunday event at Champps after the 50's  JUNE 18th- 20th                 BACK TO THE 50'S JUNE 20th  CLUB EVENT -  Replaces Friday Night Cruise Meet at Champp's in Burnsville (on Cty Rd 42 across from BV Ctr) at 6:30 for the Sunday Cruise (replaces the Fri Nite)  after the BTTF's.  We will have the patio area. JUNE 23rd - Tentative CLUB EVENT - Wednesday in the Park - BurnsvilleWe have been invited back to do a mini-show for ISD 191 Bob & the Beachcombers will be playing from 7 - 8:30pm. We are to be set up between 4:30 & 6:00 to avoid the traffic. It's at the Civic Center in Burnsville on Nicolett between 130th & 134th. The Club had 30 cars last year, and are hoping to do better this year. See ya there. You can trade items for the foodshelf for a pepsis if you are so moved. JUNE ?? DJ, VFW Steak Fry , Craft Booths etc.  JULY ??th -  LIFE CHURCH SHOW - 9:00 - 3:00 FREE Show, FREE Hog Roast, stuff for kids etc On Hwy 50 between Cedar Ave & Pilot Knob. South side of 50.

AUGUST ??th -  CLUB PICNIC Our annual picnic will be.   Main courses provided. Bring a dish to pass, your own beverages and your CHAIRS (if you want to sit). More info and directions to follow. AUGUST ??th SUMMER SPECTACULAR Captains & Workers Meeting All members welcome. We'll go over all the final details etc for the upcoming Summer Spectacular AUGUST ??th -  CLUB EVENT MINI SHOW We are meeting in Lakeville to do a Mini Show for the DLBA's Night in the Park.  Be there by 5:30 or as close as possible. Let's have a good turnout for this.Free Angus steak kabobs compliments of Porterhouse Steak & Seafood Restaurant. It's right in the middle of town on 208th & Holyoke Ave. For a map and directions go to   www.downtownlakeville.com AUGUST ??th- Dakota Cty Fair Car Show The Summer Spectacular Committee has agreed to handle the Dakota County Fair Car Show.  They don't need a lot of people as it's just park em and register them.... no trophies, no voting, but it's a good deal for everyone. It runs 9:00 - 4:00 and you just bring your car (1974 & older) thru the main gate and they direct you to our area. You and everyone in the car gets in free. This is for anyone, you do not have to be a Cruzer! Any help with the show will be appreciated. They'll supply some treats, door prizes and Gary Lyons' group (the Top Hats) will be providing music. Then we will go to Rascal's for the FNC food part. AUGUST ??th SUMMER SPECTACULAR SETUP- The Committee will be at the Fairgrounds from 10:00 am till about 7:00 pm setting up tomorrows show. Putting packets together, Painting parking lines, posting signs, marking the craft building and vendor spaces, putting out trash cans etc etc. If anyone wants to stop out and help, or just keep them company while they do these items, you are more than welcome. Note: the Crafters are allowed to set up starting at 3:00. AUGUST ??th CLUB EVENT  - Our SUMMER SPECTACULAR EVENT  at the Dakota County Fairgrounds.   Car Show, Swap Meet, Craft Fair, Live Music, Games, Door Prizes, Food, Pancake Breakfast,  Dakota Village is open and more. BE SURE TO SIGN THE VOLUNTEER SHEET WHEN IT COMES AROUND, or if you're not at the meetings, contact Gary Lyons and let him know you want to volunteer. WORKERS - please bring your RFS radios with fresh batteries, and a cooler with ice for when you work your shift  - we will have water available for you.  You must check in at the Cruzers HQ to get your free water & food coupon. Try to be there 1/2 hour before your shift starts.... ******** SEPTEMBER 2010 ********

SEPTEMBER 4th - CLUB EVENT  -  Mini Show for the Cracker Barrel Restaurant in Lakeville. We have done this the last 7 years, and it's a fun time. We get on the GRASS parking! They have spectator voting and get a lot of people coming through. It's on the NW corner of 35W & Hwy 50. We set our Club "mini-show" attendance record last year with 48 club cars showing up. Let's beat that  this year! Starts at 11:00  and you can leave whenever you need to.... really good food and a great gift shop. You get 2 free meals per membership if you bring your rod. Only 2 meals/ membership even if you bring 2 cars. Must be a paid member, roster will be checked. SEPT 15th -  MONTHLY MEETING -  7:00 PM at the Lakeville VFW - 8790 Upper 208th St.. It's right Downtown. Go down Holyoke and turn west at the Hardware store. If you want to submit possible changes to the By Laws, be sure and bring them to this meeting so they can get published in the Cruz News. We will discuss & vote on them at the October (Annual) Meeting! Submissions must be accompanied by: how much you want to give, a short blurb about the charity, and the % of the money that goes directly to the Charity & the % that is for administration. Submit them to Mark (SouthernCruzers@Charter.net) If they were submitted last year, I have the blurb and %'s so you don't need to send that info, just send how much you want to give. If it is a NEW Charity (one that hasn't been submitted before) that must go to a Board member first.The actual "Profits Distributions Meeting" will be in November unless the final TSS P & L financials aren't done yet. It's optional, but if you want a say in where the money goes, this is the meeting where it's decided. Submitted requests (NO REQUESTS ACCEPTED HERE) will be read by a Board Member, and then a vote will be taken and the most popular ones will receive their request.
